A body has been found during the search for a teenage snorkeler who was announced missing three weeks ago, off the Dorset coast. Oscar Montgomery, 17, was last seen on Portland coast, Dorset, on the 27th May around 17:00 BST.
Human remains were found the following morning in the water off the coast. The identity of the body has not been formally announced, but it is believed to be Oscar.
Dorset Police have said:
“Our thoughts are with Oscar’s family and loved ones at what must be a tremendously difficult time for them, and we will support them in any way we can. I would like to thank all those who shared our appeal and everyone involved in the search efforts.”
The extensive search for Oscar has included two UK Navy warships, Coastguard Helicopters and RNLI lifeboats being enlisted in the efforts.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
