Time and time again, countless members of the US Army get away with excessive and unnecessary brutality towards innocent Iraqi citizens without facing consequences or reprimand for their horrific actions.
Take, for example, this story. During a house raid, a woman was carrying an object close to her chest. Without a second thought, an american soldier drove the muzzle of his rifle hard into her face. The woman latwe died due to the actions of this soldier.
The object she was holding? Her child. A baby.
The list goes on; other examples of disgusting actions like these include - soldiers taking photos, posing next to dead bodies, soldiers raping children and women in front of their families, soldiers murdering people in front of their loved ones. Not to forget torture methods employed in detention centres, methods such as upside-down hanging, oxygen deprivation and electric shocks, all of which Washington, and the American people, largely turn a blind eye to.
These acts are revolting crimes. Those who commit them must be prosecuted; but they rarely are.
