Trump rally has shockingly low turnout

Trump’s Tulsa rally was set to be his big return to the campaign trail: but shockingly, it ended in humiliation.

The President claimed that millions applied to join his first campaign rally of the upcoming election on June 21st. However, according to the Tulsa Fire Department, only 6,200 people attended, with his campaign team claiming that 12,000 people attended despite the venue holding up to 19,000 people. Campaign manager Brad Parscale blamed this on ‘fake news’, claiming that the media warned people against the rally due to Covid-19 and the current protests.

Many have attributed the low turnout to the fake booking of seats. Parscale claims that they ‘constantly weed out bogus numbers’ making this impossible. Many parents have reported on their teens booking hundreds of tickets, and a viral TikTok received more than 700,000 likes after encouraging people to sign up for free tickets. This was after it was originally meant to be on Juneteenth, the celebration of the end of slavery in the US.

During the rally, Trump spoke about stopping testing for coronavirus, calling it the ‘Kung flu’ a phrase criticised yet again more racism from the president. The President also failed to mention the massive Civil Rights Movement happening across the world after the murder of George Floyd - avoidance of the real issues to make himself look better? Many would say he would need to after such a dismal night.
